Fa'atura tahatai

IUCN

Conservation and Restoration of Ecosystems and Wetlands of the Coast of the Society Islands Fa'atura te tahatai.

Implementation of an experiment to restore coastal vegetation:

This project aims to restore coastal vegetation and river estuaries on three Society Islands using a science-based ecological protocol, with long-term monitoring. Actions focus on five sites: two on Moorea (Opunohu and Temae), two on Tetiaroa Atoll, and the expansion of the restored area on the ILM site in Paea, Tahiti.

The project is supported by four key associative partners: the French Committee of the IUCN, Te mana o te moana, Te Ora Naho – FAPE, and the Tahitian Historical Society. It also benefits from the scientific support of the Research Delegation and the commitment of several technical partners to ensure its success.
